Affidavit of Shelley J. Pacitto
I, Shelley J. Pacitto, under oath, do hereby attest as follows:
Christine Faulkner and my daughter, Kelley Faulkner, have been in a loving and committed relationship for nearly ten years. From the time that I met Christine, or “Chrissie”, as her friends and family call her, I have felt that she is another daughter of mine. She is a dedicated registered emergency room nurse and she is purely one of the most compassionate people I have met in my lifetime.
Kelley and Chrissie brought my first grandson, Simon, into the world three and a half years ago. I live in the same neighborhood as them, and so watching the two of them become parents and create a family together has been a true joy. When their newest arrival, Loren, entered the world, my joy was doubled. I am completely blessed to have them in my life.
Both Chrissie and Kelley contribute equally to the well-being and support of their family, entirely sharing all parenting and home responsibilities. Neither child is in daycare, and so Kelley and Chrissie alter their working schedules, allowing each of them to be at home with their children for half of every work day. They have a complete commitment to ensuring that their children are well-supported and brought up in the most stable and loving home possible.
As mothers, both Kelley and Chrissie are engaged, involved, and fully in tune with their children. The boys adore each of them and they are amongst the most well-adjusted, loving, and thoughtful children I know. I am proud to say that my daughters go above in beyond in their parenting approaches and they are both exceptional mothers- patient, gentle, and devoted.
I am continually amazed by the intellect that each of my grandsons possess. Without coercion, Simon has become an adept self-learner. Like his brother, Loren is extremely bright and fully taking in his surroundings. I believe they boys’ aptitude is wholly the result of Chrissie and Kelley’s parenting style. They have a very relaxed home where their children are able to completely explore and follow their own interests at their own pace.
It is my belief that Chrissie is an extraordinary parent to both of her sons and I am fully in support of her adoption of Loren Faulkner.
