Position

TEACHER – LIBRARY LEARNING COMMONS MIDDLE - PM

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful teaching/practicum experience at the Middle school level
  • Demonstrated experience working in a library or learning commons preferred
  • Training/experience in Blended Learning delivery
  • Experience facilitating learning on-line
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate effective instructional design to co-plan , teach and assess learning
  • Facilitates collaborative engagement to cultivate and empower a group of learners
  • Demonstarted ability to foster literacy to empower lifelong learners
  • Commitment to advancing the learning community to achieve school goals
  • Experience designing learning environments that support participatory learning
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills related to maintaining a website and Web 2.0 tools such as blogs or wikis are required
  • Demonstrated ability to help create and manage digital portfolios for students
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills which have resulted in improved student achievement
  • Demonstrated ability and training in inquiry based learning
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and promote social innovation with the context of an interdisciplinary, inquiry based model
  • Ability to conduct formative assessments, to collect data and to design learning experiences accordingly
  • Must be able to differentiate learning based on students’ needs
  • Effective written and oral interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning and the implementation of high impact instructional strategies
  • Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage themselves, learners and others in a conflict situation
  • Demonstrated ability to engage learners at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to model safe, caring and inclusive behaviour and commitment to the success of all learners
  • Successful recent teaching evaluation or practicum report(s)
  • Eligible for BC Teacher Certification
