The goal of this course is to learn the fundamental principles of design and to develop and foster art-making skills and analysis. The art-making skills delve into a wide range of artistic styles and process encompassing 2-D Design, Sculpture, Photography and Digital Art. The class acts as an introduction to the breadth and scope of what is possible in the world of artistic creation. Being so, the lessons and projects are typically reinforced with art historical knowledge, critiques, and introductions to art theory. Adopting a class structure with which the students are familiar, the students will be quizzed on vocabulary, technique, and concepts. This helps ensure fairness to students who have not received as much art training in their educational history.
