Introduction

You are required to give a ten minute presentation on any of the below topics. The scenario is that you have a job interview for your dream job and they have asked you to do apresentation on any of the below topics with a specific question for each topic. Please select only from the following topics or provide me with a suitable alternative (I need to approve it first!).
Topics

1.Business

  1. The ‘Dragons Den’ Scenario

You are required to come up with an original business idea and have ten minutes to explain why as a potential investor I should invest in your new idea. Assume you need the investment.

  1. The ‘Damage Limitation’ Scenario

You have to deliver a presentation to an area which has been polluted by your plastics factory, thousands of children have fallen ill and babies have been born with birth defects. Attempt to reassure these people you will turn the situation around and compensate them appropriately.

2.Travel

  1. The ‘Travel Guide’ Scenario.

You have to deliver a presentation as if you were a salesperson for a travel company who needs to sell the ‘most amazing’ four week tour of China. Your audience is foreigners and dislike mass tourism on the whole.

  1. The ‘Inspiration’ Scenario.

Many famous poets, musicians, film directors, chefs etc. have been inspired by travelling or outstanding natural beauty. How has travel inspired you, or how have other people’s travels inspired you to do something positive? Provide a presentation on this positive influence and how it can help others.

3.Emotions

  1. The ‘Are we Animals?’ Scenario

To many our emotions are what set us apart from animals, what do you think about this issue? Are we just animals with emotions, or do have animals have emotions too? Provide a presentation on this topic.

  1. The ‘Value’ Scenario

Which, to you is the most important human emotion of all? Why is this, illustrate through your presentation the reasons for this.

4.Sports

  1. The ‘Sport Importance’ Scenario

Why is sport so integral to our society today? Do you think this is a good or bad thing? Say why and illustrate with examples through the presentation.

5.Idols

  1. The ‘Idol’ Scenario

Are idols important to our society, or is there a phenomenon of idol worshiping which is harming it? Is having in idol an important part of being a human being, even if it’s a family member or someone you know personally? Illustrate with examples through the presentation.

Advice

Use ppts or any form of media that will help convey the right message to the audience based on the question you have chosen. Remember the communication strategies we discussed and the importance of your audience. (More on presentation skills next week to help with that aspect of the assignment)

The topics and questions vary in difficulty but can ALL gain you full marks if you are that good!

It’s 10 minutes so going above or below by over 1 minute will be penalised! Keep to the time!
