COURSE DESCRIPTION: Introduction toEconomics: Free Enterprise System

Economics is the social science that deals with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services, or the material welfare of humankind. Seniors will develop life skills and financial literacy through the use of project based learning and informational presentations from professionals.

TEXT: ECONOMICS

In the classroom, students will share a class set of Economics textbooks.Parents may contact the LHS main office, to receive a hard copy of any LHS textbook.

MAKE UP WORK POLICY

IN ACCORDANCE WITH LHS POLICY ALL STUDENTS WITH EXCUSED ABSENCES WILL BE PERMITTED TO MAKE UP THEIR ASSIGNMENTS WITHIN THE CURRENT GRADING PERIOD. ONCE THE GRADING PERIOD HAD ENDED AND GRADES HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED, ALL GRADES ARE FINAL.

ATTENDANCE/TARDY POLICY

ATTENDANCE AND TARDIES WILL BE MARKED DAILY. EXCESSIVE TARDIES AND ABSENCES WILL RESULT IN PARENT CONTACT, A DECREASED PARTICIPATION SCORE, AND A DISCPLINARY REFERRAL.

MANADATORY ECONOMICS CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Taking notes and bringing your notebook(binder) to class daily is required, EVERYDAY.(A notebook grade will be recorded each SIX weeks.)
  2. Assignments may be written in pencil, blue, or black ink ONLY.
  3. Make-up for tests and assignments will be scheduled by appointment only.
  4. Class Participation is required everyday, and constitutes a portion of your final grade.
  5. Reports and projects should be typed in black ink.

BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS:

1. Enter class quietly and be seated then prepare for daily assignments. Do not hang outside or near the classroom door or roam the hallways. Wear your school ID badge, and dress properly, the dress code will be strictly enforced.

2. Immediately begin to complete the opening activities when the bell rings. Do not just sit there, books closed, and arms folded looking lost.

3. Participate in class, pay close attention to lessons, and complete all assigned tasks.Group work-Members will stay on task, cooperates, and completes all assignments per the directions presented by the teacher/presenter.

4. Work faithfully and do not stop until the bell rings!!! I will dismiss you, not the bell.

5. Unless assigned, absolutely do not use your cell phone or electronic devices in class!!!

No texting, no answering ANY calls, no listening to music, charging devices, or playing games.Parents/Guardians please do not call students during class, it’s disruptive.

Follow all Lancaster High rules, and expect them to be enforced!!!!!!

CONSEQUENCES:

Everyone is expected to do their best in all situations, in fairness all will receive the same punishment each and every time a rule is broken or disregarded, NO FAVORS!
