The VERITAS Certified Professional Program is designed to ensure that individuals using VERITAS solutions have consistent, high-performance technical problem-solving skills and that they are recognized for their technical expertise. · VERITAS Backup and Restore Concepts—This self-paced course (offered via CD-ROM) is for new or experienced system managers and engineers, technical support staff, integrators, and developers who need to become familiar with VERITAS data protection technology as part of an overall availability strategy. The course introduces the concepts and principles involved in basic data protection. You will learn what data to protect, when to perform backups, and how to store the backup files. You will learn how to troubleshoot a VERITAS NetBackup system, how to use the command-line interface, and how to use script files to integrate VERITAS NetBackup with other application services. Methods for analyzing VERITAS NetBackup performance, identifying bottlenecks, and controlling and improving performance will be introduced and practised.
· VERITAS Data Protection Administrator for Windows—Topics covered during this instructor-led three-day course include installing, configuring, and operating VERITAS NetBackup; managing VERITAS NetBackup and Media Manager using the graphic interface; providing service protection and recovery; and using the Activity Monitor and logs to track VERITAS NetBackup processes. Practical exercises will enable you to test your skills as you learn.
