Wilderness Exploration will give our older campers an opportunity to take their outdoor skills to the next level while developing important team-building skills. By allowing campers to immerse themselves in a more in-depth discovery of the forest, we hope to encourage a deeper understanding and appreciation of the wilderness areas of east Texas.

Monday campers will practice their outdoor skills and knowledge, experience the rock wall climbing and participate in low ropes activities at Campus Recreation coordinated by SFA Outdoor Pursuits. On Tuesday the group will travel to Lake Nacogdoches for a full day of basic canoeing training. Wednesday morning we will play on the high ropes course before heading to Martin Dies Jr. State Park to set up camp and enjoy an afternoon and evening of camp activities. On Thursday, the group will get on the river and begin their canoe adventure. After a full day of canoeing the group will return for campfire cooking and fun. We plan to return to Nacogdoches by 4 pm on Friday, July 15.

Due to the nature of this adventure trip, registration will be limited to twelve campers 12 -15 years of age. Please register early. As with all our camp programs some limited scholarships may be available. All necessary forms are attached and also available on our website
