Job purpose - overview

Deliver projects, advice and campaign activities in support of all WRAP’s consumer behaviour change programmes, including LFHW, Recycle Now, Recycle for Wales, Recycle for London and Love Your Clothes.
Develop and support innovative partnerships with business, community groups, charities and local authorities in order to encourage waste prevention, re-use and recycling activities by individuals and businesses

Core accountabilities

To manage a portfolio of projects, partnership initiatives and direct campaign delivery activities to support increased waste prevention, re-use and recycling; ensure delivery on time and to budget with achievement of agreed communication activities and outputs.
2. To work flexibly within the Campaign Project Management Pool to deliver campaign activities and develop key partnerships.
3. To support Campaign Managers in the development of research, insights and knowledge which underpin WRAP’s understanding of consumer attitudes and behaviour in the area of waste prevention, re-use and recycling.
4. To promote key strategic partnerships working in the core campaign areas and provide ‘hands on’ advice, support and management of funding to selected partners to help them implement local and national communications opportunities.
5. To ensure WRAP’s consumer insights, materials and knowledge are shared with appropriate partners.
6. Share best practice in campaign project management, contract management and internal processes and systems to ensure effective and consistent delivery in the team.
7 To provide progress reports and expenditure forecasts for projects as required by the Campaign Manager or Programme Area Manager to inform monthly and quarterly reporting on the programme; including those relating to monitoring and evaluation of partnership/project impacts.
8. To ensure all projects and partnership initiatives are carried out in line with the aims and objectives of WRAP. Campaign Project Managers will be responsible for project development, execution, monitoring and evaluation of activities from initiation to closure in line with the established principles and operating procedures.
9. To undertake other appropriate duties as may be determined from time to time by the Operations Manager and Resource Manager: Campaigns and Engagement

Specific accountabilities

1. Produce and deliver bespoke local communications plans detailing key promotional opportunities for increasing levels of food / dry recycling in specific areas and to support local authority service changes. Plans will be developed in line with the RfW strategy, linking in with key target audiences and campaign themes.
2. To provide specialist communications advice to local authority waste teams and lead on the management and development of the design of a broad range of targeted digital and print-based materials, ensuring that they are produced to the highest standard and maintain the integrity of WRAP’s brands.

Job essentials

  • Strong marketing / comms background with demonstrable experience planning, managing and delivering a broad range of activity across a variety of channels and platforms – digital and print
  • An excellent understanding of audience segmentation, with experience in successfully engaging audiences through targeted messaging and positioning tactics
  • Experience of successfully delivering behaviour change projects to consumer audiences.
  • Experience of communications and /or marketing.
  • Demonstrable experience of development of alliances and partnerships to meet delivery of objectives.
  • Demonstrable experience of advising and providing support to partners – including communications planning and management of grants or other funds.
  • Demonstrable experience of excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
