As an employee of Foxes Academy your absolute priority is to safeguard the learners in our care. You must work professionally, effectively and sensitively work with your team to ensure that all learners are safe and feel safe with any concerns listened to and acted upon appropriately.

We expect allemployees to accurately, factually and professionally record and report any incidentsinvolving learners, including safeguarding and prevent, using daily events on Databridge, with all concerns being reported to the appropriate person (Team Leader/Safeguarding Officer). We expect all recordings to be completed within 24 hours of the incident.

We expect you to remain up-to-date through appropriate CPD, and compliant with all statutory aspects of the role including Safeguarding, Prevent Duty, Children and Families Act (2014), Keeping children Safe in Education (2015) Equality and Diversity, and any other legislation and/or guidance that either directly or indirectly affects the role and all company policies as appropriate.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:-

As a tutor we expect you to plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate inspiring, engaging and individualised sessions of the highest quality that challenge and stretch every learner.

We expect all tutors to professionally, effectively and sensitively support the learners in their learning.

We expect you to work collaboratively and professionally as part of the Vocational Education and Transition Teams.

We expect all tutors to professionally and effectively manage learner behaviour, seeking further advice and guidance where appropriate.

We expect every learner to make progress each session and that this progress is recorded, evidenced and evaluated effectively and efficiently.

We expect allTutor to respect the privacy (confidentiality) and dignity of all learners and at all timesadhere to the equality and diversity policy.

Specifically you are expected, without exception, to:

  1. Effectively and professionally plan, prepare and resource highly individualised sessions of the highest quality, including those sessions where you may be absent, according to the published scheme of work.
  1. Deliver professional, inspiring and engaging sessions of the highest quality that challenge and stretch every learner, and in which all learners are motivated and engaged throughout. We expect every tutor to be fully engaged in the session at all times without exception.
  1. Plan and prepare robust and professional assessments and ensure that all tracking (including baselining, target setting and review) and reports associated with these are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner, and that any records are kept up to date. All tutors must be familiar with, and actively use the principles of RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement).
  1. Work professionally and collaboratively with all colleagues and teams across the Academy, including the Therapy team and House Team Leaders, to analyse learner performance and ensure that all learners make progress commensurate with their ability. Where underachievement is identified appropriate strategies should be implemented immediately and reviewed. Where overachievement is identified, targets should be reviewed and further challenges agreed within teams and set.
  1. Ensure that all learners receive professional, timely and effective feedback, with appropriate strategies (next steps) to improve their performance, and that such discussions are evidenced through effective and professional record keeping (Evaluations,Tutorials, Reviews).
  1. Prepare, direct and lead Learner Support Practitioners (LSP) within your session, and to actively promote a professional attitude and approach with the LSP at all times. Ensure that LSP’s contribute throughout the session including session evaluation and learner assessments.
  1. Contribute professionally and constructively to any review and development of any course, scheme of work, quality assurance processes and procedures.
  1. Ensure that all Risk Assessments are professionally and effectively carried out, recorded appropriately (including on session plans) and used to ensure the highest standards of learner and staff welfare, health and safety.
  1. Contribute professionally, effectively and efficiently to any meetings, reports and plans as requested across the organisation.
  1. Contribute to organisational development and quality improvement through collaborative working.

Hotel Standards

  1. You are expected at all times to maintain the highest professional standards within your area of responsibility.
  1. To maintain and develop further the highest professional standards within Housekeeping.
  1. To ensure the cleanliness of the Hotel to the highest standards.
  1. Ensure that Housekeeping conforms to all Health and Safety standards and all breaches are immediately reported to the Hotel Manager/ Health, Safety and Fire Compliance Officer.
  1. Contribute to the professional standards of the hotel which will be regularly checked and reviewed by the Hotel Manager, the Hotel Duty Team or any member of the Senior Leadership Team.

General

  1. We expect you to undertake any other duties and/or responsibilities as directed by the Principal (or Line Manager) on request.
