Participants are expected to attend the entire conference programme. For the working groups, you are expected to commit to attending all the sessions and actively participating in discussions. We stress this knowing that successful outcomes can only be reached if the working groups are stable and the continuity of discussions and work is ensured.

If you would like to actively bring your experience to a working group, please give a brief description of your possible contribution. If you have a particular interest in working on a special question concerning your chosen working group, please indicate this. Suggestions about experts on any of the themes are also welcome.

4. Practical arrangements:

There will be no conference fee. Participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation costs. TRIALOG can support a certain number of NGO representatives from the 12 new EU member states by covering travel and accommodation. For details about applying please see below.

Accommodation is booked in the conference venue in Montelimar for the dates of the conference. Transport from Managua on 24th in the morning and to Managua on 26th in the evening will be organised for those who register for transport. Only a small number of single rooms are available; most participants will share a double room.

Visa

No visa for Nicaragua is needed for EU citizens. However, you might need online registration (and visa) for the US in case of transit flights. Please make sure that you are allowed to use an US airport for transit.

TRIALOG support for travel and accommodation

Support for travel and accommodation costs is very limited and will only be granted on request to certain participants who attend the whole conference programme.

If your organisation is from a new EU member state (EU-12), and you need support for travel and accommodation, please fill in the attached TRIALOG application form and send it before 15th June 2010 to:

For those accepted for TRIALOG travel and accommodation support, TRIALOG will organise and pay for the flight tickets (with Iberia) as well as the hotel nights necessary in Managua and the accommodation in the conference hotel.

Preference for TRIALOG support will be given to NGO representatives with a clear interest and perspectives of working in the field and the region and who will also participate in the field visits to development projects in different parts of Nicaragua. These field visits will be organised by HORIZONT3000, Universidad Uraccan and TRIALOG and will take place in the week of 29th November to 4th December 2010.
