Registration Dates:
- On-line registration for PTA memberswill begin Wednesday,September 9, at noon.
- Open registration will begin on Friday, September, 11, at noon.
- Registration will close Sunday, September, 13 at9pm.
- **Late registrations will NOT be accepted.**
How to Register:
- Choose your class(es) from the Course Catalog.
- Register on-line using the link on our PTA’swebsite (
- Please submit one on-line registration per child.
- Payment may be made on-line through the registration site OR you may pay by check. Checks MUST be received within 2 days of registration or your child will be dropped from the class. Please make all checks payable to Creighton’s Corner PTA. Checks should be placed in an envelope addressed to PTA ASEP and given to your child’s teacher.Your child’s name must be in the “for” line of the check.
- Registrations will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis.
- IMPORTANT: When registering, please fill out if your child has alternate classes they would like to attend should the class you are registering for be cancelled due to low enrollment.
Class Dates/Times:
- The fall session beginsSeptember 21 and will run for 8 weeks
- The dates for all classes are included in the class descriptions – Please pay close attention to these dates as we have school holidays during the Fall ASEP session, along with a few classes that have a later end date.
- Classes are held from 2:45pm to 4:00pm.
- ASEP will offer only one make-up class per course cancelled due to weather or unplanned school closings for classes on Tuesday through Friday. There will be NO make-up class available for Monday classes.
Getting to the Activity:
- Students will be dropped off in the gym at dismissal time where their ASEP class instructor will meet them. Once the entire class has arrived, the instructors will take their classes from the gym to their specified class location.
- If there are changes in your child’s schedule or they are absent from school on a day for which they are signed up to attend an ASEP class, please notify (in addition to the school) so that we know that they will be missing their ASEP class that day.
Class Dismissal Procedures:
- Students will be dismissed from their ASEP class locations.
- When picking up your child, please come to the main lobby and you will be directed to the ASEP classroom to sign your child out.
- An authorized adult must sign each child out of his/her class. Your child will only be released to a person listed on the registration form. If someone other than a parent or previously authorized person is picking up your child, the child must provide the instructor with a written note signed by the parent.
Late Pickup Policy:
Pick-up from the program is PROMPTLY at 4:00 pm. LATE PICK-UPS WILL BE CHARGED! If a child is picked up more than 5 minutes late, the parent will be charged a $1 PER MINUTE late fee. After 2 late pickups or if you are more than 20 minutes late, the PTA reserves the right to terminate your child’s participation in the program without a refund. In addition, failure to pay the late fee will result in the child not being able to participate in future After School Enrichment Program classes.
Refunds:
- Please choose your classes carefully. There will be NO refunds for withdrawals, and credits will not be issued.
- If a class must be cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a refund in the form of a check from the PTA.
Volunteers
We need parent volunteers to assist with the sign-in and sign-out process during the program. Responsibilities of the volunteer include:
- Arriving at the school by 2:20 to assist with the sign-in process and remaining at school until all students have been picked up by their parent or guardian.
- All participating students will be signed in by their instructor. If any student is missing, the volunteer will verify the location of the absent student with the front office staff.
- If a student is not picked up on time, the volunteer will contact the child’s emergency contact.
If you volunteer for this responsibility your child(ren) will get priority placement in the class(es) of their choice AND you will receive one ASEP class free! You can choose to volunteer on any day of the week, regardless of what day your child attends ASEP class. Children are welcome to stay with you while you volunteer. Health Concerns
During the ASEP classes the school clinic is closed. We do not have access to the school nurse or any of your child’s health information. If your child is injured or becomes ill, your child’s instructor will contact you or the emergency contact designated by you on your registration form.

MONDAY & WEDNESDAY
Course: Running Club
Grades: (3-5)

Description: Running Club is open to boys and girls! We play games focusing on cooperation/teamwork, discuss important running form and practices, and spend time running at each session. All of this is done in preparation for a 5k at the end of the season. This season, we will be participating in the Lace Up for Learning 5k in Brambleton on the morning of Saturday, November 14th. Coaches will register all Running Club participants and the cost of the race is included in the registration fee. A healthy snack will be provided at the end of each session.
Running Club will meet on Mondays AND Wednesdays. If you are registering for this class, your child should attend both days.

Description:Students enrolled in 4th and 5th Grade Chorus will be instructed in vocal techniques to develop a student’s singing voice. Students will be provided opportunities for singing in unison and in harmony. Some of the songs may include instrumental accompaniment and/or coordinated movements that enhance the music. The students will rehearse songs to perform for a winter concert in December and other possible performance venues in, around, and out of Loudoun County. Fee includes a chorus t-shirt to be worn in conjunction with khaki pants or skirts during performances. **NOTE: Chorus will begin on 9/21 and rehearsals will be held on Mondays through December 8th. We plan to perform an evening winter chorus concert performance on Monday, December 8th, 2015 at 6:30 PM. Other rehearsals and performances may be added as opportunities arise.

Description: Do your kids have a flare for drama? If so, join Mrs. Agacbuken and Mrs. Kroeze for a fabulous Reader's Theater class filled with fun stories, laughs, and plenty of opportunities to let your creative juices flow! This is also a wonderful opportunity for your child to improve upon their reading skills and presentation skills with two specialists at CCE. At the end of the 8 weeks, parents/family will be invited to watch their kids perform their plays during the last class!

Description:Are you looking for a club where you can go exploring outside, get messy and maybe even muddy? Do you like exploding science experiments? If so, this boys only club is perfect for you! We will do a variety of activities that are of high interest and developmentally appropriate for elementary-aged boys while also helping them to foster friendships in a safe atmosphere. Some activities include: volcano making, digging for worms and building a habitat, making a fart noise maker and burping bag (sorry parents!), homemade slingshots, Minecraft activities, and a superhero day (filled with light sabers, masks, capes, and comic books!) Course:Beginning Guitar

Description: This course is for an absolute beginner who may not currently play an instrument or read music. 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be introduced to the acoustic guitar, proper playing technique, basic rhythmic strumming patterns, basic chords, and song forms. Students will be taught through musically enriching games, by rote, and begin to develop a foundational understanding of basic music notation. The goals of this class are to provide students with an understanding of the guitar, introduce and interpret standard music notation and guitar tablature, and promote proper playing technique in a manner that is age appropriate and engaging. Description: Learn chess from a Silver Knights Chess coach! We teach more than 3,500 children each week. Class time is split between lesson and play. Lessons range from learning the rules to advanced tournament strategies, depending on the children. Play time is structured to pair each student against an opponent of similar skill. All grades and skills are welcome. Silver Knights will supply all the equipment during chess club. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments.

Description: Join us for this class where students will explore yoga through imaginative stories, songs and yoga inspired games. Description: Mrs. Kime is offering a girl's club that works on courage, character, social skills and has a whole lot of fun together! This laid back club will start off with an approved snack. The girls will eat and chat about their week. Each class the club will do something together such as create lots of fun crafts, paint, make friendship bracelets, origami, scavenger hunts, play a sport, dance, play critical thinking games and much more! Description:PE Games for Colts - Students will learn and play in several cooperative and action packed games. Activities range from adapted sports games, relay races, field day games, and even fun tag games that the kids like to play in Physical Education class. Students will be provided water and breaks when needed from this action packed hour plus of fun. These games will be developmentally appropriate and suited for grades K-3. Games will be played inside and outside.

Description:Where kids come together to write about topics that are happening in school, worldwide events, poetry, comics and stories. In Newspaper Club, we write, edit, publish and take photos about topics that are chosen by the student reporters. Each student reporter will choose a topic that is of interest to them, and will collect information on that topic, organize the information in the appropriate format, plan or create photography and/or artwork for the project and write and edit the article which will be published in our School Newspaper. (Students may choose to work in pairs) The students will have a ton of fun and get to experience the thrill of seeing their hard work in a published form for a real audience- our school community! Each child will get their own colored copy to keep. An online version will be published on the school website and a hardcopy will be given to each classroom.
This class will have a max of 8 2nd-3rd grade students and a max of 12 4th-5th grade students. Please make sure you sign for the appropriate grade level in registration.
