24H SERIES powered by Hankook and TCE SERIES powered by Hankook announce 2017 calendars*
MONTMELÓ (September 2, 2016) – On the eve of the Hankook 24H BARCELONA, the penultimate round of this year’s 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, promoters and organisers CREVENTIC have announced the calendars for 2017 for both the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook and the Touring Car Endurance Series powered by Hankook. With a total of twelve rounds between the two series, the calendar includes as many as six new venues. The 24H SERIES will be visiting the circuits of Monza and Imola in Italy and Portimão in Portugal for the first time. The former Grand Prix circuit of Magny Cours in France and the Misano circuit in Italy are new venues on the calendar for the TCE SERIES powered by Hankook. For the first time, CREVENTIC will be staging a race in the United States as well: the Hankook 24H COTA at the Circuit Of The Americas in Austin, Texas, has been added to the 24H SERIES calendar as a non-championship event.
24H SERIES powered by Hankook
As usual, the 2017 24H SERIES powered by Hankook will get underway with the series’ flagship event, the Hankook 24H DUBAI (January 12-14). The Hankook 12H MUGELLO (Marckh 16-18) also is a traditional fixture. The Hankook 24H CIRCUIT PAUL RICARD has been moved from its July date to the first weekend of May (May 5-7). Next up are two rounds in Italy at famous circuits, the inaugural Hankook 12H MONZA (June 8-10) and the inaugural Hankook 12H IMOLA (June 29-July 1). After the summer break, the action resumes with another new event, the Hankook 24H PORTIMAO (August 25-27). The Hankook 24H COTA, the inaugural race at the Circuit Of The Americas in Texas, is scheduled to take place from November 9-11.
TCE SERIES powered by Hankook
Launched this year to great success, the Touring Car Endurance Series (TCE SERIES) powered by Hankook will have a five-round calendar in 2017. The Hankook 24H SILVERSTONE (March 31-April 2) will serve as the season opener, followed by the inaugural race at the Circuit Nevers Magny Cours in France, the Hankook 12H MAGNY COURS (April 20-22). In July, the touring car series heads to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the inaugural Hankook 12H MISANO (July 6-8), followed by the Hankook 24H BARCELONA (September 1-3), that will be converted to a touring car race. The season will be concluded with the Hankook 24H EPILOG BRNO (October 6-8).
Hankook 24H COTA: a new event in the US
With the announcement of a race at the Circuit Of The Americas in Austin, Texas, CREVENTIC has fulfilled a long time dream of staging a race in the United States. “We have been working on this for a long time and we are delighted that everything is now in place for us to have a race there next year,” CREVENTIC’s Peter Freij says. “Like for our race in Dubai, we will be offering tailor-made packages including transport of cars and equipment to Texas and back, so that teams don’t have to worry about the logistics.
