was the front of the building, had windows and doors of which we know nothing. Interest in presenting the 1892 stud wall is extremely lacking. We have determined that the building had a door in the middle when it was first constructed and plans for windows on either side. The only viable way to present the building is “heavily restored” to the beginning state because that is the only condition we know anything about. Speculation is limited because the windows were never cut in. The presentation of the details of the door is problematic and should be abbreviated unless research produces some likely details. The elevation will include splicing to save the serviceable ends of the logs that remained. This will document the scale of the stud wall. Much of the elevation will be new. Only three of the full length logs above the openings will be saved. The mid floor joists are generally rotten on the east end and given their purpose to hold weight, replacements have been made for most. Several originals will be reinstalled.
The original roof structure is not fully understood. It is anticipated that most of the rafters will be replaced saving possibly two originals. Hopefully by the time it is needed the structure above the rafters will be better understood, but lacking knowledge currently about the original roof, it is anticipated that the 1892 roof will be reconstructed.

1
