Start of the New Nation/Early Republic Facebook Project
PURPOSE: Create a fictional Facebook page on a key historical figure from the beginning of the new republic in the United States. DO NOT CREATE A PROFILE ON FACEBOOK. USE THE TEMPLATE BELOW to design the mock-Facebook page on a piece of poster paper given to you.
You may choose ONE of the following historical figures from this time period:
Ø George Washington
Ø John Adams
Ø Alexander Hamilton
Ø Thomas Jefferson
Ø James Madison
Ø Anyone else you feel was important during the time from the creation of the Articles of Confederation to what you’ve learned in class…(please ask me before choosing)
1. Create the Facebook page using the following guidelines:
§ Name of figure at the top of the page
§ 1 Profile Picture of your historical figure
2. Information Corner/Basic Information:
§ Network
§ Birthday
§ Political Affiliation
§ Hometown
3. Friends Corner:
§ 3 pictures of people that are/would be friends with your figure.
4. The Wall (STATUS UPDATES):
§ In the form of “Facebook status updates”, write 4 significant facts on “The Wall”.
§ These status updates need to highlight important events that your figure is famous for.
§ Each comment must be about a separate event and include the date.
§ The comment can be from your figure or from someone associated with your figure.
§ ***EACH COMMENT MUST BE LIKED OR DISLIKED BY A SPECIFIC INDIVIDUAL***
