TOWNSHIP ELECTION RESULTS - There were 391 votes cast in the election that was held on March 8th. The results were: Seat A – Dennis Beise – 221 votes, Maynard E. Olson – 162 votes, two write-in votes. Seat B – Gregory Eckblad – 194 votes, Leander Wetter – 188 votes, there were no write-ins.
A recount was held for Seat B. The results were the same. The winners of the election for the supervisor position, both for 3-year terms, were the incumbent, Dennis Beise, and Gregory Eckblad.
SURPLUS EQUIPMENT FOR SALE - The Township has a used A-frame, overhead gantry that will be sold, as is, as scrap. The gantry has a 1-1/2 ton manual wench, 3” wheel casters that are greasable and is constructed of 4” square tubing. Interested parties should submit a sealed quote to our Clerk/Treasurer by close of business on Friday, April 22, 2005. The purchaser must sign also sign a hold-harmless agreement. If you wish to view the equipment, please call the township office for an appointment.
DUSTCONTROL - Road restrictions are usually lifted some time in May, gravel needs to be applied to some of our roads, and the application of the magnesium chloride dust control product is scheduled to begin right after Memorial Day. We apply the product in areas where we have the roads prepared. Many factors come into play, such as condition of the roads, amount of traffic, product availability, and, of course, and the weather conditions. Usually, we try and finish with the application by the end of June.
BURNING RESTRICTIONS – Open burning restrictions are in effect at this time. No burning is allowed at this time, please call the office, a fire warden, or check the website, to see if restrictions have been lifted. The fire wardens in our township are:

REGULARTOWN BOARD MEETING SCHEDULE CHANGED - The regular meeting of the Rockford Township Board will be held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, effective April 19th. The reason for the change was to enable the town board to attend other council and board meetings that conflicted with our previous schedule, if necessary.
