Data Sharing and Intended Destinations

For Headteacher / Head of Careers / Management Information Managers of Secondary Schools

Data Sharing

Data Privacy Notice

Over the coming week all Year 11 students will be sent, to their home address, the Data Privacy letter and a leaflet promoting the changes to the legislation regarding remaining in learning until the age of 18. This communication is required to enable ECC to share relevant student destination data with schools/colleges and to support education providers in reporting on their student destinations. If you would like to see a copy of the final letter please email . Additional copies of the leaflets will be sent into schools.

Activity Survey

The Employability and Skills Unit has now completed the uploading of the Activity Survey Information for the 2014 cohort and we are now contacting young people where we have no clear destination information. Where a data sharing agreement has been signed and returned to Essex County Council the Destination information will be disseminated to schools in due course. If you would like more information on the Data Sharing Agreement please contact .

Intended Destinations

The next stage of the annual data collection is the ‘Intended Destinations’ or ‘ID’ as it is more widely known. This is your opportunity to identify the options students are considering in the academic year 2015/6 and offer help if they are not sure what to do next.

Tony Forsdick has emailed all school contacts with the excel spread sheet for schools to record the information; as well as a manual form to collect information from your students and transfer it on to the spreadsheet. We would be grateful for your responses to Essex County Council between 2 January and 31 January 2015.

This year we are looking for data on students within the age range of 1/9/1998 – 31/8/1999 irrespective of their year group.

Our aim for next year is to identify the destinations earlier, to ensure there is sufficient and appropriate course provision available for 2015/2016.

Please can you email responses to SCF Performance Requests: .
