HoPE Conference, hosted by British School KL, 21-23 September 2017

BSKL was the host of this years Head of PEFOBISIAConference. Over 80 delegates attended including Directors of Sport, Heads of PE and teachers, who travelled from around Asia to BSKL for theFOBISIAAGM and Professional Development courses. Three expert speakers were flown out from UK and 2 other locally based experts also contributed to the professional development programme whose profiles are below.Ahuge thank you to all who contributed to the successes of the course.Aspecial thank you to Canterbury, Hong Kong for sponsoring kit, Universal and Bishops Sports for their prize giveaways and also Les Elfes who donated an all expenses paid Ski Trip for 2 people to Switzerland.

Ronnie Heath:

Ronnie leadsanational and international team of creators who are finding ways to provide the best possible early experiences for 4-11 year olds, creating positive relationships with physical activity for life. Ronnie,aformer leader in education, award-winning National League coach and National Trainer, established Create in 2006 to inspire teachers and coaches to better include, engage and challenge all young learners. In addition to being an innovative and groundbreaking author and speaker, Ronnie provides inspiring thought leadership to change the culture of PE and Sport.

Neil Rollings:

Neil was in charge of rugby at four independent schools overa21 year career, including 10 years as Head Coach at Sedbergh. He also coached North Schools and England Schools’ President’s XV. He now advises independent schools on the development of sports coaching programmes, recruitment and isamember of the RFU Technical Advisory Group.

Tim Lamb:

Tim Lamb is an Assistant Headteacher at St Christophers Penang who has previously been Head of PE. He has been teaching and preparing high level Tball teams for many years for competitions. He has an excellent relationship with Softball and Tballassiocations in Malayisa and has been tournament director for various Tballcompetitions. He will share effective skill practises, position selections, tactics for successful tball teams and be able to answer any questions you have regarding Tball.

Rob Rudling:

Rob isalevel 3 advanced skills basketball coach, qualified referee and table official, he has coached at both junior and senior national league levels in the UK. Rob has also worked with the regional selection teams alongside national coaches. His enthusiasm and passion for basketball is second to none, this has been evident through the team orientated approach he has to teaching and coaching, Rob is currently Head of Secondary PE at the British International school of Kuala Lumpur.

Andrew Frapwell:

Andrew Frapwell trained asaphysical education teacher and taught for 10 years before spending 8 years at the University of Worcester training teachers. Andrew hasaMasters degree with distinction in Education leadership and management. He has authored extensively including qualifications for the QCF and has presented professional development workshops in the UK, Europe and the United States.
