Iron Mask and Footloose Next Films to Screen at Weinberg Center

FREDERICK, Md., Thursday, January 5, 2017 — The Weinberg Center for the Arts’ Silent Film Series continues in the new year with a screening of the 1929 silent adventure “The Iron Mask.” Based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas, the film will screen on Saturday, January 21 at 7:30pm, featuring accompaniment on the mighty Wurlitzer organ. “The Iron Mask,” a Three Musketeers tale, marks legendary actor Douglas Fairbanks’ final silent film appearance.

Fan favorite “Footloose” will screen on Wednesday, January 25 as the next film in the Flying Dog Film Series. Happy hour will begin at 6:30pm and the screening will begin at 7:30pm. Starring Kevin Bacon, this 1984 hit follows streetwise Ren as he battles to abolish the dance ordinance in a small Midwestern town. “Footloose” is rated PG and has a runtime of 107 minutes.

Tickets for both screenings are $5-$7 dollars with discounts available for students, military, and seniors. Tickets may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the Box Office at 301.600.2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick St.
