Strengths of the school – thank you for the very positive comments which included:

“Care for the children, giving them a good education, encouraging them to be the best that they can be, supportive and going the extra mile to help my child”

“Excellent teachers –my son has really come on”

“All teachers and staff are very visible and approachable”

“K says he loves school as every day he learns something new”

“Caring teachers - look after the children on an individual basis”

“Staff seem to work very well together and are a good team”

“Friendly, welcoming atmosphere for learning”

What could the school do better?

“Opportunities for more small group times for the ones who are struggling a little with numbers etc”

Children are taught in Reception in small groups for phonics, reading, and maths. We endeavour to teach children according to their abilities at all times, whilst always having high expectations for learning. If you feel that your child is struggling with certain aspects of learning, please talk to our child’s teacher about this. We are here to help!

“Further development of use of facebook page. More targeted to child posts on tapestry – we don’t get as many in Y1 compared to Reception”

The facebook page is new this term and we hope it will develop further as we grow with it! If you haven’t checked it out yet, please do and share the good news stories with everyone!

Tapestry in KS1 is used differently than in Reception so it will not have as many posts once your child enters KS1. In the EYFS, Tapestry is our main assessment tool. However, in KS1 we use a range of assessment tools to monitor your child’s progress, with posts on tapestry being only one of them.

“Update parents more on stuff”

We endeavour to keep parents as well informed as we can, through letters, texts, website and facebook. Mrs Beddoe is on the door most mornings and she can be answer any questions you may have then. If you don’t make it into school in the mornings, then you can contact school by email or telephone:

“More after school activities”

Cricket after school club and football after school clubs will be added to our range of clubs in the summer term.

Attendance

Please be aware that this term we are assessing your child so we can report on how much they have achieved this year. Please do not take a holiday during term time and try to ensure your child attends school every day if they are well. Thank you.
