Emergencies
(i)Evacuations
In an emergency, (e.g. fire) occupants of the premises should evacuate the building in accordance with the fire notices on display, and the drill practices. Fire notices are displayed throughout the building. These fire notices must be read and understood by all users of the building. There are two assembly points: the Car Park in Lairg Road for the two Fire Exits in the main hall and the Car Park in Tulloch Roadfor the rear Fire Exit (rear of stair well).
(ii)Fire Drill
Fire drill will be carried out 2 times per year. A record of fire drills will be retained. It is vital that all users of the building read and understand the fire notices relating to emergency procedures. Groups hiring the hall are encouraged to carry out their own fire drills.

Equipment faults should be reported immediately to the Management Committee. Users of the hall must not tamper with or attempt to fix faults on machinery, particularly electrical equipment. It is the responsibility of the Management Committee to oversee and arrange the maintenance of electrical & gas installations, appliances and equipment. Users of the hall should be aware of the dangers of trailing wires and these hazards should be kept clear of feet and chairs.

A First Aid box is located in the kitchen on the window sill.
Review and Checks
Health and safety checks and Risk Assessments will be conducted on an annual basis by the Management Committee and should be done in consultation with regular users of the hall. A review of this policy statement will also be carried out regularly so that it can be updated as required.
COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
The only such substances on site (e.g. cleaning materials & paint) are stored in a locked cupboard accessed by the cleaner and Management committee members who have received appropriate instructions on their use.
