Figure 4

Select the R link since in this example we submitted a request for promotion for him earlier.

As with most lists in PeopleSoft you may click on any heading to sort the list by that criteria. Eg. Name, Promotion Date, etc.

Warning: If we were to see Roy's name listed twice here, that would indicate that the Submitter has inadvertantly submited two promotion requests for Roy. The Approver should simply deny the second request since PeopleSoft will not recognize that they are duplicate requests.

Figure 5

Select the *Comment link since it is a required field. For this example a comment will appear on your click.

Note: If you are going to deny a promotion, please specify which promotion policies are not being met in the Comment box so that the submitter can make corrections.

When a request for promotion has been submitted, a series of automatic emails will be generated:

·  The first will verify that the request was successfully submitted.

·  The second will notify the submitter that one of the approvers has approved the request and it is awaiting final approval by another approver. Notice that the email specifies "Number of Approvals: 2".

·  The third email will indicate that the request has been given final approval or, if the reqeust is denied the reasons for the denial will be indicated in the comments at the lower area of the email.

The example above is verification of successful submission.
