You will write your text here...
If your story requires illustrations, where you want illustrations, please supply an artwork brief in a different colour OR highlighted text to distinguish it from the rest of the text.
Your artwork brief needs to be clear and detailed, so that the illustrator will know exactly what to draw. Use the following checklist to guide you:
· What is the illustration about? What should be foregrounded? (e.g: A group of school children are running towards a school bus that is already leaving. It should be clear that they will never catch the bus in time.)
· What is happening or visible in the background, if anything? (e.g: The scene takes place in a rural township.)
· What time of day is it? Is it hot or cold, cloudy or sunny, dry or rainy? Etc. (e.g: It is a summer morning with the children in their summer uniforms)
If the artwork includes a person or people:
o How many people? (e.g: A group of three school children)
o How old are they? (e.g: School children, about 12 years old)
o What are they doing? (e.g. They are running very fast because they are late for school)
o What are they wearing? (e.g: They are wearing their winter school uniforms. The uniforms are green and white, with the boys in khaki shorts with green and white checkered shirts and the girls in green skirts with the same shirts.)
o What do they look like? What is their sex, skin, hair and eye colour? (e.g: An Asian girl with short hair, an African boy and a white boy with brown eyes and hair.)
o What is their facial expression? What emotions should be illustrated? (e.g: They all look very worried, because they are going to miss the bus.)
If it is an object, please provide all the necessary details the artist might need.
