Background information(job title)
Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is supported by over 15,000 members who make a donation by direct debit every month to help fund our work to protect and enhance Staffordshire’s wildlife and wild places.
As a face to face membership recruiter for the Trust, your role will be to encourage new people to join the Trust. Our approach to recruitment does not involve high pressure sales techniques as we do not believe this is sustainable. Instead, you will act as an ambassador for the Trust at carefully selected venues such as garden centres, supermarkets and events such as town shows which are frequented by people who are likely to be interested in Trust membership. In a typical day you will talk conversationally to dozens of people about the Trust leading to a handful of people being inspired to “join us” and set up a monthly direct debit.
This is a role where the more you put in, the more you get out. We’ll always guarantee at least minimum wage, but it is possible to earn much more through a competitive commission package which is based on the value of membership subscriptions you sign up.
This role is ideal for somebody who looking for a role that has flexibility with a good earning potential. You will be contracted on an “Annualised Hours” basis which means you’ll work an average of 18 hours per week over the year, but you’ll work more hours in the spring and summer, especially school holidays when potential new members are out and about and fewer hours in the winter. Availability at weekends and school holidays is therefore essential.
