Details of the school

The buildings that make up YeoValleySchool date back to the turn of the century. The central block was originally built as a social centre for the lace factory that used to be sited opposite the school. After a considerable amount of building work and additions the school opened in 1939 as a BoysSecondary School. The building was extensively remodelled in 1976 when it reopened as a primary school.

There are presently 240 children on the main school roll, including those children attending the Nursery. The children are currently organised into twelve teaching groups making up a Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Teams.

In addition to the head teacher and class teachers there is a part time Special Needs teacher within the school. We have a Foundation Stage co-ordinator, Early Years' and Key Stage 2 co-ordinators and a Nursery Nurse, as part of the full time staffing complement. The school has a number of learning support assistants attached to the Early Years Team and Key Stage 2 plus a full-time School Librarian who additionally manages many of the teaching resources in the school. In addition to this, there are a number of part-time and full-time teaching assistants employed to assist children with educational statements.

The school sets great emphasis on its standards and expectations, co-ordination, corporate planning and joint activities. Staff meet twice each week for either INSET or planning meetings. There are briefing sessions each week at the end of the day.

The school has a field, which is separate from the main site, and a gymnasium (also acting as a dining hall). Children from years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to swimduring each academic year. The school is well equipped with AVA equipment and in addition to 6 class based computers between each year group and has a 24 station curriculum computer suite and a wireless network consisting of 10 laptops. Each class hasan Interactive Whiteboard.

The school grounds have been developed to provide outside learning areas. The school provides after school care from 8.15am to 8.45am and again after school from 3.15pm to 6pm. The school is also working hard with outside agencies to provide a healthier lifestyle for the children.

We want a lively, committed and dedicated administrative assistant to join this happy, hardworking school whose principal aim is to provide the very best support service so that we can offer the very best we can for the children,

The Governors are very keen to promote the school within its area and would welcome those committed to this ideal. Intending applicants are welcome to make arrangements to visit the school and all shortlisted candidates will be given opportunity to tour the school on the day of interview.
