Dear Parents/Carers,

BBC Children In Need Appeal

On Friday 17th November, we invite all children to come to bring a donation of £1 for coming to school wearing non-uniform. Children should NOT wear dressing up outfits or costumes, it is just a chance to wear sensible home-clothes for the day. If children choose not to bring the £1 donation, then they will be expected to wear their school uniform as usual.

Punctuality

Unfortunately some of our children have been arriving late to school, therefore missing vital learning in lessons, which start at 8.50am every day. Last week 11hours and 43 minutes of learning was lost due to children arriving late. It is not always possible to repeat this learning and so some children are missing activities and may have gaps in their learning in the future.

In addition to this, many parents/carers are late collecting their children from school. All children should be collected promptly from the school playground at 3.30pm. The gates are closed at 3.35pm and after this time school staff have to supervise all children who are late being collected. This takes staff away from attending meetings, delivering clubs and carrying out other tasks including preparing activities for the next school day.

  • Friday 17thNovember - Non uniform day – bring £1 for the BBC Children in Need appeal
  • Friday 8thDecember - Non uniform day in return for donations of chocolates for the Christmas Fair
  • Wednesday 13thDecember - School Fair 3.45pm – 5.30pm
  • Friday 15th December – Christmas Lunch
  • Friday 22nd December – All children to watch a pantomime show in school
  • Friday 22nd December – Children can wear non-uniform, Christmas or Winter themed if they wish, in return for a £1 donation to charity
  • Friday 22nd December – School closes at 3.30pm for the Christmas Holiday
  • Monday 8th January 2018 – School reopens after the Christmas break
