Richard Smith Memorial Scholarship
Application 2016

The family of Richard Smith is sponsoring a scholarship to honor his memory. The scholarship of $500 will be awarded to a graduating senior of Greenbush/Middle River High School. Richard was a 2004 graduate of GMR and a 2008 graduate of the University of North Dakota with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Richard was a hard-working, fun-loving guy who loved life and touched many during his short time on this earth. The Smith family would like to recognize an outstanding young person who has demonstrated leadership and participation in a variety of school and community activities.
The recipient of this scholarship will be selected by Richard's family. This award is based on scholastic achievement, community service and career goals, not financial need. All GMR seniors attending a post-secondary school are encouraged to apply, however preference will be given to a senior planning a career in an engineering or agricultural related field. Richard's family will make their selection and the recipient will be announced at the spring awards banquet. The scholarship will be given the first semester of the second year of college and the recipient must maintain a 2.5 GPA to receive the award.
If you wish to be considered for this scholarship, please provide the requested information by April 1, 2016. Completed applications can be returned to the Greenbush/Middle River Academic Advisor.
