Fact versus Fiction
“White Lilacs is a fictional book. The characters in the book, as well as their thoughts and actions, were created by the author. However, the book is based on historical fact. There really was a town in Texas similar to Dillon, where white residents relocated black residents to make room for a park.
Directions: Look at each of the facts below and record a fictional “creation” from the book “White Lilacs.” There are sometimes in which you will have to think of the factual evidence for the fictional event.
