Scholarship Announcement

St. Ann’s Alumni & Friends of Little Mexico, Inc. in keeping with its mission to support the scholastic endeavors of young people who are descendants of alumni from St. Ann School or descendants of past residents of the historic Dallas community of “Little Mexico”, will award Educational Scholarships to aspiring students who desire to pursue their collegiate studies. Listed below are the eligibility requirements and the timeline for submitting the application:

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a scholarship from St. Ann’s Alumni & Friends of Little Mexico, Inc. applicants must meet the following criteria:

1.Be a descendant ofalumni who attendedSt. Ann’s School or a descendant of past resident(s) of “Little Mexico”;

2.Be a 2018 graduating high school student with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or its equivalent;

3.Compose an essay of a minimum of 200 words on: “Where do you see yourself ten years from now considering your field of study or career choice?” Your essay will be a deciding factor in the awarding of this scholarship. Have a teacher, counselor or academic advisor review your essay. (See page 7 of 8.)

4.Be accepted to an accredited 4 year college or university;

5.Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with permanent resident ID card.

Required Documents

1.Complete the scholarship application.

2.Submit (2) two letters of recommendation from teachers or community leaders.

3.Present a copy of the applicant’s state identification.

4.Provide a copy of your school transcript.

5.Provide a copy of the college acceptance letter. Upon acceptance of this scholarship, the applicant will be required to submit a copy of his/her registration from the college.

Mailed applications and required documentation must be postmarked no later than March 16, 2018.

Hand delivered applications and required documentation must be delivered no later than March 16, 2018 by 4:00pm, without exception.
