Congratulations on making it to High School

American Government/Civics Syllabus andGrading System.

This course provides students with a basic foundation in national, state, and local government.

Grading system: Summative assessments: 50% of the grade will come from the "major tests" which typically cover two standards each. They usually consist of 50 multiple choice questions worth 2 points each. Formative assessments:The remaining 50% of the grade will come from daily grades, class work, assignments, research projects, group work, and class participation. Every four weeks a progress report will be sent home to be signed by the parent/guardian, and returned by the student.

Materials required: Three ring binder and paper for notes (spiral notebooks not permissible as they do not allow the student to keep track and sequence of maps and worksheets), paper, and blue and black pens. Lastly, a composition notebook is required.
