School Uniform

At Westover Green we expect all children to wear school uniform every day. It avoids arguments at home about what is suitable school wear. It helps children to identify not only with each other but also to enjoy a sense of ‘belonging’ to the school family and encourages a sense of pride and loyalty. It avoids discrimination between children.

The school uniform is a dark green sweatshirt with black or grey trousers, skirt or pinafore with a white or green polo shirt or white blouse. Boys should wear grey or black socks and girls may wear white socks or black or grey tights.

Items of school uniform including school fleeces, sweatshirts, cardigans and T-shirts with the Westover Green logo can be purchased locally from “Hooks” near the Indoor Market at Eastover.

All children are expected to wear sensible black shoes. Please do not send your child to school in trainers. The children may bring a change of shoes for playtimes.

Parents are reminded of the importance of labelling children’s clothing, particularly PE kit. This is essential equipment which every child needs. School policy is that children change for PE.

Jewellery must not be worn at all in school, with the exception of stud earrings.
