This book contains the Proceedings of the Workshop ‘Global Sustainability Insideand Outside the Territory’ held on February 14, 2014, in Benevento, Italy,organized by Futuridea – Innovazione Utile e Sostenibile with the sponsorshipand support of Global Sustainable Social and Energy Program – GSSEP Onlus,Department of Science and Technology – University of Sannio, CNR ISAFoM,ConSDABI – Consorzio per la SperimentazioneDivulgazione e ApplicazionedelleBiotecniche Innovative, ConfederazioneItalianaAgricoltori, FondazioneITS BACT, Provincia di Benevento, Confindustria Benevento, Camera diCommercio Benevento, and Consorzio ASI Benevento.The purpose was to getting together researcher and stakeholders interestedin communicating, establishing collaboration, exchanging ideas in the globalsustainability area, which calls for the widest possible interdisciplinarity.The proceedings consist of 10 invited and contributed papers related to thebroad range of aspects of sustainability in a global scenario including foodsafety, monitoring, soil mapping, health care, territorial intelligence, local foodproduction, greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy sources, integrateddevelopment, sustainability strategies, ‘smart’ bio-territories.The workshop was largely a success and led to the signing of internationalagreements for the protection and enhancement of endangered species in the areaof North Africa. We wish to thank all those who have contributed to organize andrealize this event. Our appreciation is due also to all those Institutions andCompanies that in different ways joined us in our job.
