Reading: Carefully read the directions for each table.

Model: View the sample table SAMPLE TABLE.

Instruction: Your teacher or another student will instruct with mini-lessons periodically.

Peer Instruction: You will teach others about the standard.

1) – Create two tables in Word. See Table Assignments below.

2) – Make each table error-free.

3) – Save each assignment for submission with all WP assignments.

3) – At the time of submission open all assignments for your instructor.

4) –You are prepared to assist others with this standard by answering formatting questions.

Save this as CT3 TABLE1.

Directions for Table Assignment #1

Create a table that could be used as a weekly progress report of all of your classes. Open a Blank New Word Document>Insert Tab>Table Group. Now you can Click and Drag over the number of cells that you want to include in the table, or select Insert Table and enter the number of Rows and Columns you require. Include the following information.

  • Merge row one (hint: Highlight row one. On the table ribbon, choose Layout tab>Merge group>Merge cells.) You must highlight the entire row, not just the text.
  • Title your table PROGRESS REPORT FOR:
  • DS – double space
  • Type your name
  • Include the column headings below (headings should be bold and Center Aligned):

  • Period
  • Subject
  • Teacher’s Name
  • Grade To Date
  • Comments
  • Instructor’s Initials

  • Fill out the information in the table for Period, Subject, and Teacher’s Name. (The rest of the cells will be blank.)
  • Your table must fit on one page in landscape or portrait orientation. (hint: Page Layout tab>Page Setup group>Orientation)

Save this as CT3 TABLE2.

Directions for Table Assignment #2

Go to: Amazon.com/Music and search for “best seller 2012”. (Hint: See Bestsellers>Bestsellers Archive and enter year/All months/All Days). Look through the list for popular CD’s to complete the table below.

Create a table with the following information:

  • Merge row one
  • Make up a title for your table
  • DS – double space
  • Type your name
  • Include the column headings below (headings should be bold and Center Aligned):

Title, Artist, Price, Average Customer Rating

  • Select 8 different CD’s to include in your table.
  • Bold the row with your favorite CD.
  • Center the table horizontally and vertically on the page (hint: Right click within the table>select Table Properties>select the Table tab>select Center for the horizontal alignment. Note: to open Dialog Box, click in lower right corner of Page Setup group. Once you open Page Setup Dialog Box, select Layout>Vertical Alignment and change it to “center”).
  • Your table must fit on one page in portrait orientation.
