Methylation is a multifaceted biochemical process of the body affecting everything from inflammation to behavior health. This program gives a glimpse of how this important liver function may be affecting your periodontal therapy and patient outcomes. Learn two of the methylation (MTHFR) gene variants implicated in oral medicine.
Through salivary diagnostics dental professionals can add this all important marker into the treatment planning of periodontal therapy. Study case examples and learn customized patient protocols. This program touches on biochemistry, periodontal pathogen groupings, epigenetics, and host modulation therapy utilizing nutrition.

We are going to try something new this year and have 2 courses on Saturday. There is a smaller room that we can use for the 1st course and the 2nd course will be in the usual room. Registration is limited for the 1st course so register early. This is a first so it will be a trial run!

This is an ideal moment in time to consider dental hygiene business ownership. The profession has come full circle to a viable and integral contributor to the economic health of this country. The potential business of dental hygiene has yet to be fully realized. Whether you are a new graduate or veteran dental hygienist this course may give you an idea about how a business arrangement may serve you best in the new economy. Are you a potential business owner? Take the Entrepreneurial Assessment to find your best assets. Topics touched on include out of the box business demographics, legal business structure, and marketing to the conscious consumer.

Review of Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen, Local Anesthesia, and Medical Emergencies 6 Cat I credits

This is the perfect refresher course for the dental hygienist. The morning will consist of a review of everything from the history, indications and contraindications, case presentations, overview of machines, precautions, and more of nitrous oxide and oxygen delivery. The afternoon will continue with a review of local anesthesia including information on pharmacology, amides vs. esters, concentration and dosing, techniques, patient information and instructions, and more. The final portion will prepare you for dental emergencies you may encounter in the dental office.
