Hawai‘i Pacific University

Transfer Credit Search Information:

The transfer credit search database is constantly being reviewed and updated. Courses listed in the database are currently what we have evaluated; it does not list every course that an institution offers. If we have not yet completed an evaluation of a course that you are looking for please contact for an evaluation.

Below is an example of a course equivalency listing from our Transfer Credit Search:

Transferable / Transfer Course / Equivalent Course / Equivalent Credits
YES / CHEM 100 (Chemistry + Man) / CHEM 1000 (Introductory Chemistry) / 3

On the left side of the screen you will find course information from the originating (transfer) institution. On the right side you will find information listed as to how Hawai‘i Pacific University will accept the course in transfer.

In this example the search indicates that CHEM 100 (title: Chemistry & Man) is transferable to HPU and the equivalent course is CHEM 1000 (Introductory Chemistry) worth 3 semester credits.

In some cases you may see a course that is equivalent to TRAN 1XXX, all XXX courses are elective courses as HPU does not have an equivalent course. The level of the course is indicated by the first number prior to the XXX. For example; 1XXX and 2XXX are lower division courses while 3XXX and 4XXX are upper division electives.
