Re:Seeking Nominations for 2018 Excellence Awards
Excellence Academy
Sinclair utilizes a faculty-directed process for selecting the Excellence Award recipients. An Academy of former award winners from the previous two years will review faculty nominations to select outstanding tenure-track and tenured teachers to be honored. All award winners will be expected to serve a 2-year term on the Excellence Academy.

The League for Innovation Excellence Award is our college’s highest recognition of outstanding accomplishment in teaching.To read more about this award please visit their website at
Sinclair College Award Eligibility
All tenure-track and tenured Sinclair faculty members who have completed at least four years of service in a tenure-track or tenured faculty position are eligible to be nominated by their department chair or the division dean, as applicable.There is no limit on the number of nominations that may be submitted per Division. No more than two faculty members will be selected from each division. Faculty nominees who were not selected last year may resubmit an updated nomination form.
Nomination Deadline
Nominations must be submitted to the Center for Teaching and Learning in Room 7L02 no later than 5:00 PM on Wednesday,November 29, 2017.
Nomination Process
Nominations must be submitted in a labeled file folder, and include the information listed in the nomination form (copy attached). The materials may be clipped together, but not stapled or otherwise fastened together. Electronic submissions will not be accepted.
Interviews
Nominees may be invited to be interviewed at the discretion of the Excellence Academy.

Nomination Checklist
Please check to affirm that you have complied with the award procedure.
Completed Award Nomination, printed on white 8 1/2- x 11-inch paper and an 11 point font
A statement of your teaching philosophy
A one-page bulleted list of teaching accomplishments
A bulleted list of conferences/workshops attended in the past four years
A bulleted list of conferences/workshops facilitated at in the past four years
A one-page letter from your department chair or division dean
A one-page letter from one teaching colleague
Summaries and comments of student surveys from three sections of courses you have taught over the past year
Nomination is submitted in a folder (no notebooks or binders)
The nomination information is in the following order:
- Statement of Teaching Philosophy
- Teaching accomplishments
- Conferences/workshops
- Support letters
- Student surveys, including comments(ONLY three summaries)
I have reviewed my Excellence Award Nomination materials and completed the above checklist. I understand that the nomination must be submitted to the Excellence Academy through the Center for Teaching and Learning,Room 7L02, by 5:00 PM on November 29, 2017. No late nominations are accepted.
