Winchester City Royals Basketball Club – Introduction Letter 2017/18 Season
Welcome to another exciting, and successful, season of basketball. Please find details following that explain the days and timings of training sessions, the points-of-contact for each age group team, registration, fees and the new method of payment.

Scores and league tables will also be kept on the website.

Registration
All players attending team coaching sessions must complete:
a) a club registration form with contact details (provided with this letter) and
b) GoCardless payment registration – follow web link (“signing up”) below.
Payment includes registration with Basketball England which provides insurance for your child to train and allows entry to all league competitions.

Club registration forms will be available on our website and at training sessions in September.
For insurance reasons, children will be unable to train until they have registered with the club and signed up for payment.
Fees
The fees for the 2017 / 18 season are:
Minis @Primary School / Secondary School / CVL / National League
1 x Kit (upfront payment) – if required / n/a / £40 / £40
Monthly subscription / £20 / £25 / £50
Duration (months) / 10 / 10 / 10
A child’s school year will determine which of the first 2 columns is applicable.
The coaches of the U16 Girls NL, U16 Boys NL & U14 Boys NL will inform those players that have made the NL squads and as such will be required to pay a higher monthly fee.
Each child will own her or his kit (with the exception of minis).
Sports halls are used for exams (GCSEs).
This means the main hall is sometimes not available.
This affects around 7-9 weeks of the school year.
The above costs take this absence into account and have been ‘smoothed’ over.

GoCardless
Payments will be collected via GoCardless which has all the benefits and protection of direct debit.
Account details are encrypted on the GoCardless’ system and not visible to WCBC.

You will not be charged for Registration and Equipment if you have already paid by cash
and your team manager has this recorded.
Terms and Conditions
· Payment period is 10 months : Sept to June
· Kit will be charged automatically as a one off of £40* at the time if kit is requested by parents / guardians (if applicable – but some may choose to reuse kit from previous season if it still fits!)

· **Each additional child per same household: £5 per child per month – please email number and ages of children
· Court hire location will vary (last season’s venue included: Kings, Perins, Prince’s Mead / Oxford for tournaments)
· Court hire will likely not be available during holidays and school exam season – payments have been smoothed throughout the year
· If a child starts playing in Sep and GoCardless is setup for Oct then payments will run to July – and so on
· Any sessions held in July/August will be charged as additional pay per play
· All Fees include £16 core membership for which we will claim back gift-aid in the event we have enough support to form a Charity Board.
· In the event prices need to change during the season 1 months’ notice will be given.
· Please provide a months’ notice if leaving the club to allow time to cancel GoCardless direct-debit.
