Job Title:

Events Manager.

Fixed term from 1 August 2016 to 31 March 2017.

Salary

£30,000 per annum (pro-rated for part years).

Main Purpose of the Job

Marketing Liverpool is the city’s destination marketing organisation (DMO). It is part of Liverpool Vision, the city’s economic development company, working within the strategic leadership of Liverpool City Council and the Mayor of Liverpool.

To lead on international events and conferences.

The position offers a diverse and rewarding role working within tourism, conference, investment sectors and delivering events with the city’s most recognised brands. Specifically, the jobholder will work on the following projects:

  • EAIE
  • Labour Party Conference
  • MIPIM UK 2016
  • IBTM 2016
  • MIPIM CANNES 2017
  • ROUTES 2017

Directly Responsible To:

The Head of Marketing Liverpool.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Account management;
  • Managing and implementing a busy events programme;
  • Liaising with public and private sector partners;
  • Venue sourcing and selection;
  • Full logistics including travel and accommodation booking;
  • Delegate management including registration;
  • Working closely with internal teams including marketing and investment;
  • Supplier liaison and management;
  • Budget management and reconciliation;
  • On-site management;
  • Post event evaluation;
  • Any other duties which may be relevant to the purpose of the job.

Core Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • A proven background in delivering large scale events from end to end including the development of creative concepts, realising commercial targets, overseeing full logistics and budget management;
  • Experience of delivering complex conferences is essential and working on both B2C and B2B events is desirable;
  • Extensive experience of planning and delivering major events and conferences against agreed objectives;
    Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organisational skills;
  • Results driven, well organised and able to manage several projects simultaneously;
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to influence and build strong relationships;
  • A positive attitude with a hands-on approach to work tasks and thrives in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to execute projects on time and to work collaboratively in a team environment;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to contribute in a collaborative team environment;
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality.
