WICKED RUNNING CLUB SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION 2018
Submit online application and attachments no later than April 1, 2018.
The Wicked Running Club will be awarding scholarships to area high school seniors later this spring. Funding for the scholarships is made possible from the revenue generated by the club’s Wicked Frosty Four road race on New Year’s Day. Consideration will be given to runners and track and field athletes of all abilities who meet the eligibility requirements.
Eligibility requirements are:
- Essex County, Massachusetts resident and high school senior at time of application;
- Participation in cross country or track running, and/or field events as a high school senior;
- Acceptance to a college or university.
Scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of academic achievement, contributions to cross country and/or track and field teams, volunteer/community work and quality of application and essay. Preference will be given to residents of Wicked Running Club member towns.
Each applicant shall complete the application form below and submit the appropriate attachments to the selection committee; incomplete applications cannot be considered for scholarship awards.
Please note:
1. Completed scholarship application via the Wicked Running Club web site;
2. Copy of current high school transcript including standardized test score (attach at end of online application);
3. An essay - 500 words or less;
4. Two recommendations must be submitted with this form; one must be from the student’s current track or cross country coach the other from a teacher/professor; and
5. A letter of acceptance from the college or school the student will be attending in the fall of 2018 (attach at end of online application).
