Coaches Information

-  Informational meeting was held today to discuss Next Level Workouts. Close to 40 girls attended. Talked about expectations. Workouts start 10/21 at 5:30 am and they encourage the younger girls to get rides from the older girls so parents do not have to drive.

o  Follow the coaches on Twitter for the latest information about practices/changes/cancelations - @softballmason

o  Next Level Workouts are not mandatory – they are encouraged to get the girls ready for the softball season.

o  Inclement Weather – we will cancel before the schools. If school is delayed or canceled – workouts are automatically canceled. If you feel it is not safe to send your child, please do not do so!

-  Senior Leadership Retreat – 11/15 at Camp Cambleguard. More details to follow

-  Challenger league – Huge hit with the players and volunteers!

-  Returning Coaches – Varsity Head Coach – Liann Muff, Assistant Varsity Coach – Dave Bell, JV Green Head Coach – Adam Toohey. Our coaches interviewed 6 coaches for the other open positions – looking for fresh ideas for the upcoming season. Desperately looking for a pitching coach for the Varsity team if you know of anyone that will help, please contact Coach Muff!

-  Wish List – small item repairs to nets – about $50

Treasurer Report:

-  Looking for an assistant treasurer to help John as he travels for work. They will help with the budget in October and help make deposits from the concession stands in the spring if John is out of town.

-  Realized that we have several credit cards in other peoples’ names that are no longer with the softball program that are linked to our booster accounts. We are in the process of cancelling those cards.

-  Audit – we have turned everything in for our audit from MABA – we should hear back in the next month if there are any questions.

MABA:

-  Starts up in October – no news

ICRC

-  Thank you to Randy Lewis for taking over this positon. He will work with Don Stewart to have some of our Varsity games recorded for TV again this year.

Fundraising Committee

-  Restaurant Fundraisers – will do monthly restaurant fundraisers again this year – huge success!

-  We are looking at other options instead of bowling this year. If anyone would like to take on this fundraiser, Don Stewart is willing to help. Suggestions to make a kick-off to try-out week event, not necessarily a fundraiser – laser tag, go-carting, monster mini-golf

-  Hit-a-thon – Really promote this event with middle school athletes. Great success last year and the high school teams had almost 100% participation! Thanks to Jennifer Gruslin and Barb Kociba for organizing the event.

-  Other fundraising ideas – yard signs like the football helmet, car wash, sponsors

-  Sponsors - $500 contribution – logo posting on website, logo on team pictures, signs at the stadium

Sinclair Tournament

-  1/10-1/11 – one weekend this year. Will have a big school and small school division. We will be able to send 2 teams comprised of our High School Athletes to the tournament.

-  We have a sponsor that will pay the entry fees for the tournament.

Other Business

-  High School Morning Workouts – Bob Rockstroh will coordinate breakfasts again for our high school athletes

-  Equipment – need to replace our tarp on the high school field. We have a sponsor willing to pay for the tarp if they can place the logo on the tarp. We are looking into the rules from the school

-  Home run fences on the JV fields – we are looking at the possibility of placing fences on the JV fields. We will have to trim around the fences at least once a week. May have other issues as well. We are talking with the school about possibilities.

-  Equipment needed – TCP balls for the high school teams for practice. At least three dozen needed.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:56 pm.
