Job Title:Wellbeing Assistant

Salary:£13,650 pro rata (£8,190 per annum).

Hours of work: 21 hours per week, permanent contract.

Base:Ashton Independent Living Centre and community locations within Tameside/Glossop.

Responsible to: Senior Wellbeing Worker

Main purpose of the role:

To deliver a range of services within Age UK Tameside’s Independent Living Centre, supporting older people accessing day care sessions and to carry out 1-2-1 reviews. To support the team to deliver a range of activities for older people in a social setting including chair based exercise classes, arts/crafts and wellbeing activities. This role will be responsible for an allocated caseload of regular clients who attend day services and will work with people to promote independence and social inclusion.

Functional Responsibilities:

To make a positive contribution as a member of the Independent Living Team,promoting independence and facilitating sessions/social interaction for older people within Tameside.

To carry a caseload of clients.

Tosupport older people to access transport in order to attend sessions at the centre.

To engage with families and carers in the interests of service users.

To work as part of a team to deliver all aspects of support.

To accurately complete all relevant client paperwork and administration duties.

To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service users including providing additional hours as required.

Ability to work independently.

To assist with volunteer recruitment and ongoing support.

To accurately record all interventions using a computerised database system.

To assist with promotion of the service.

To adhere to Age UK Tameside’s policies and procedures at all times.

To engage with training and development opportunities to ensure continuous improvement and quality.

To attend regular case reviews, supervision and team meetings.

To undertake any other duties which may be required, commensurate with the grade of the post.
