Summary of Position:
This position is focused around the provision of creative copyand informative B2B and B2C communications, supporting all departments at Visit Bath. Focus will be given to ensuring there is consistent brand output across the organisation in allB2B and B2C communications, whilst originating much of the copy for distribution to the media. The post holder will have close links with the Membership and PR teams, and will help to develop and deliver marketing campaigns to encourage visitors to Bath and the benefits of Visit Bath membership.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Support the Head of Marketing with activity for all campaigns from production stage through to completion
/
  1. Work with the Marketing team to develop creative ideas and concepts

  1. Write clear, persuasive and original copy through the various iterations of each marketing campaign
/
  1. Writecopy for all Visit Bath collateral, including Bath Visitor Guide, Food and Drink Guide and Bath Christmas Market Guide

  1. Write and maintain copy for visitbath.co.uk and other Visit Bath websites and digital channels, including writing blog posts and approving member amends
/
  1. Write editorial supplied to local, regional, national and international publications, and write/issue member e-comms

  1. Write/proofread relevant communications sent from all Visit Bath departments

  1. Issue monthly what’s on updates to Visit Britain and ensure the marketing department are aware of national and international travel campaigns

  1. Write press releases as directed by the Head of Marketing, and liaise with the PR Manager on the final copy for each release

  1. Monitor the effectiveness of campaigns and other forms of Visit Bath communications, to include ad hoc reporting on various departmental activities.

  1. Assist the PR Manager in the researching, liaison and management of ad hoc press/FAM trips throughout the year.

  1. Assist with general marketing activities and enquiries, and undertake other responsibilities as specified by the Digital Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing that are commensurate with the level of the post.

Other:
  • General administration support as required
  • Assist Bath Festivals with copywriting and proofreading where appropriate

Personal Specification
Essential / Desirable
Applicants should ideally be of graduate calibre or have a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a marketing role.
Excellent copywriting, proofreading and press release writing skills.
Experience of writing impactful marketing copy across all platforms, including websites and social media, and tailoring this for a range of audiences.
Experience of working in a busy office environment. / An understanding of the tourism products and services in Bath & North East Somerset.
Previous work experience in the tourism industry.
Experience of working in a PR role.
Experience of using Content Management Systems and Microsoft Office programmes.
The post holder must be an enthusiastic worker with good initiative and a ‘can-do attitude’.
The post holder must have excellent administrative skills, the ability to prioritise their workloadand excellent attention to detail.
There is a requirement to be flexible in working arrangements and to be available outside normal office hours if circumstances require.
