Summary: Dr Jonathan Hare is a self employed science communicator working under his brand of the Creative Science Centre (CSC). He gained his DPhil at Sussex under Sir Harry Kroto contributing to the Nobel Prize-winning C60 research. He is now a Visiting Lecturer in Science Communication in Physics at Sussex University. He presents about 100 talks and workshops a year to all ages. He publishes in refereed journals and has a regular column in Education in Chemistry (RSC) for students and teachers. He talks at international science conferences and has a popular science TV profile. His CSC web site is very successful with a large international following.

Activities with Sussex University

Jonathan offers high quality science out-reach activities. He has contributed to many projects at Sussex University since the 1990’s and being a well known and popular science communicator provides a valuable continuity with schools and colleges. Activities include Admission and Freshers’ Week talks, Vega Trust activities (Gill Watson, Sir Harry Kroto); SETPOINT, Aim-Higher, Excellence in Cities and SEPNet events; Salters Chemistry Clubs, Higher Education Summer Schools as well as Gifted & Talented programmes (David Daniels).

Brighton Science Festival
