October 15, 2015 – Day 2

Auditions for the Log College Jazz Band will take place on Weds. Oct. 21st and the Chamber Orchestra will try out on Weds. Oct. 28th. Anyone interested in auditioning for either group, please pick up audition materials & music in Room 1 or see Ms. Lenox for details.

Anyone interested in learning a bit more about reading Olympics can sign up outside of Room 28, Mrs. Catalano’s room. When you sign up, please take an informational flyer. The first meeting will be this Thursday, October 15 after school in the library.

Duck of the day – Donkey Kong. Mr. Julius will find you.

Thank you to all of the students who turned in magazine orders yesterday. Prizes for those orders will be handed out Monday during homeroom. Students, as a special promotion, orders for both collection days will be combined for prizes. That means that you still have the opportunity to earn the Limo Lunch – you just need to turn in a total of twelve orders. Remember, that’s 12 orders, not selling to twelve different people. Also, don’t forget that every homeroom with 40% participation earns a pig to enter into the pig race.

Student Council would like to recognize Miss Ball’s homeroom for their great participation on the first collection day – Great Job!!!

The final collection day for the magazine sale will be next Thursday. Please wait until Thursday to bring in your orders.

On November 6th Log College will once again open its door to honor the Veterans in our families and community. If you would like to invite a Veteran to school on November 6th, please get a blue form from your Social Studies teacher. You can also use the form to send in pictures of your Veteran. All forms are due to your Social Studies teacher by October 20th.

This is a reminder that the VFW essay contest “What Freedom Means to Me” is running until October 19th. All students who submit an essay are eligible to win gift card prizes! All essays will be entered into the VFW contest for larger prizes. Forms are available from your Social Studies teacher.
