Protesting a Match

  • Bout Reviews will only be done when there is a legit, justified and provable reason for them. Some of those issues may include but not be limited to:
  • Personal issues with a certain judge such as favoritism or a judge having personal ties to a fighter and can be proved these ties are either negative or positive towards one or both of the fighters involved.
  • A questionable knockdown that resulted in a standing 8 count.
  • Problem with the round times, too long or too short.
  • Incorrect scoring due to a knockdown or standing 8 count.
  • Failure of equipment that caused an issue with the fight. (Ring breakdown etc.)
  • Additional reasons will be determined if justified by the WMTA Headquarters.
  • A decision rendered at the termination of any contest may be changed by the WMTA if the WMTA determines that one of the following occurred:
  • There was found to be any conspiracy affecting the result of any contest.
  • The scorecard(s) of the judge’s shows an error which would mean that the decision was given to the wrong contestant.
  • There was a violation of the laws or rules governing contests, which affected the result of any contest.
  • Any and all protests must contact the WMTA within (24 Hours) twenty-four hours after the event. TheWMTA must receive this form within 10 days after the event from which the protest took place.
  • No protest will be considered without the below fees.
  • Protest MUST include a DVD of the bout. If no DVD is presented we will have no way to review the bout.
  • DVD format (No other format will be accepted - It MUST BE USA DVD)
  • Any additional evidence should accompany the written protest such as statements, pictures etc.
  • All protests decisions will be determined by the WMTA Advisory Board within 30 days of the filed protest.

PROTEST FEES

  • Protest fees are for the following expenses:
  • The reproduction of 5 video tapes.
  • Shipping costs to mail out these video tapes to 5 WMTA Approved Judges who were not associated with the event in question.
  • If no video is provided by the protesting fighter or trainer and the WMTA is required to find such bout video there will be a $50 fee added to the protest fee below.

  • Amateur: $50.00
  1. National and Continental Title Bouts:
  • Amateur: $100.00
  1. World or Intercontinental Title Bouts:
  • Amateur: $150.00
