A RESOLUTION THANKING DR. NEVILLE PINTO FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE

WHEREAS, Neville Pinto, Ph.D. has served the University with distinction as Dean of the J.B. Speed School of Engineering from 2011 to 2015, Interim Executive Vice President and University Provost from May of 2015 to July 2016, and Acting President from July 2016 to February 2017.

WHEREAS, in his capacity as Dean of J.B. Speed School of Engineering, he oversaw a significant expansion in enrollment, spearheaded the development of the Belknap Engineering and Applied Sciences Research Park, developed the establishment of the University of Louisville FirstBuild micro-factory, and dedicated himself to student needs and concerns.

WHEREAS, in his capacity as Interim Executive Vice President and University Provost, he acted as the Chief academic officer for the University, finalized the 21st Century University Plan, and generated initiatives to strengthen educational excellence, student success and access, and research and community engagement.

WHEREAS, in his capacity as Acting President, he continuously prioritized the students and involved the Student Government Association in all major administrative discussions to incorporate the student perspective.

WHEREAS, he has given his full and loyal support to the University in times of change and uncertainty, thereby earning the sincere respect and admiration of the entire University community.

WHEREAS, he has accepted the position of President of the University of Cincinnati, and will be departing the University of Louisville, where he will continue to champion the student perspective and he will fully devote himself in the service of their institution.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that on behalf of the student body of the University of Louisville, the Student Government Association of the University of Louisville does hereby express its genuineappreciation and profoundgratitude to Neville Pinto for his unwavering support of students during his leadership at the University of Louisville from 2011 to 2017.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution, appropriately signed, be presented to Neville Pinto.
