TOURNAMENT RULES

GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP IS EXPECTED FROM ALL PLAYERS AND COACHES!

PLAYERS MUST BE IN COMPLETE UNIFORM!!!

OFFICIALS ARE INSTRUCTED TO START GAMES AT THE SCHEDULED TIME.

THROW-INS, GOAL KICKS AND CORNER KICKS – ONE ATTEMPT ONLY!

NO COACHES ON FIELDSOR AT NETS. COACHES MUST REMAIN AT THEIR BENCHES!!!

SPECTATORS MUST BE BACK FROM THE FIELDON THE OPPOSITE SIDE FROM THE BENCHES. PROJECT POSITIVE ENCOURAGEMENT FOR ALL PLAYERS, REFS AND COACHES! TEAMS CAN BE CARDED BASED ON SPECTATORS AS WELL AS COACHES AND PLAYERS!

TEAMS WILL PLAY 8 V 8 INCLUDING THE KEEPER. TEAMS MUST HAVE 5 TOTAL PLAYERS TO PLAY. HAVING LESS THAN 5 AT GAME START WILL RESULT IN A FORFEIT. TEAMS WILL PLAY MATCHING NUMBER OF PLAYERS ON THE FIELD. TEAMS WITH ADDITIONAL PLAYERS WILL HAVE THE ADVANTAGE OF SUBSTITUTIONS OVER TEAMS PLAYING WITHOUT SUBS.

SUBSTITUTIONS: ALERT REFEREE FOR SUBS AND WAIT FOR SIGNAL TO ALLOW SUBS ON THE FIELD. SUBS SHOULD BE AT CENTER OF FIELD AND EXITING PLAYERS MUST CLEAR THE FIELD QUICKLY. NO SUBS DURING LAST 2 MINUTES OF ANY PERIOD.

A GAME SHALL BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE AT THE TIME OF STOPPAGE IF AT LEAST ONE-HALF OF THE GAME HAS BEEN PLAYED.

SCORING RULES

3 Points for a Win, 1 Point for a Tie & No Points for a loss.

If team points are tied, fewest goals against will be the tiebreaker.

If still tied, most goals for will be the tiebreaker.

If still tied, head to head winner in group play will be the tiebreaker.

If still tied, a coin toss will determine final round placement.

FINAL ROUND TIE BREAKERS:

  1. 10 Minute GOLDEN GOAL (Sudden Death - first goal wins)
  2. If still tied after 10 minutes, 5 player shootout with alternating shots. A coin toss will determine which team goes first. Players on the field at the end of the 10 minute overtime are the shooters. Five players (goalie can be a shooter) on the field at the end of overtime are chosen as shooters by the coach. Shooting order determined by coach.
  3. If still tied after 5 player shootout, each team gets one additional kick. If one team scores and the other team does not score then the scoring team is the winner. (One player from each team alternates starting with the same original five players in the same order, than the remaining players on the field from each team.)

*** The U10 final games will take the 1st place team from each division and have those teams play for the championship. This procedure will be followed for the other placed teams in each division

*** The date of July 23RD will be used as a make-up date for the July 21ST games if cancelled due to weather conditions. Any additional cancellations will not be rescheduled.

Games start at 7:15pm, teams must be on the fields for inspection at 7:00pm to start on time. All teams must arrive at 6:45 pm to warm-up and stretch prior to play.

All games are 30 minute halves with a 10 minute break for 60 minute scheduled time. Actual game time determined by referee if additional time is added for injury, etc.
