Discount Policies

Discount programs are NOT intended as entitlement to the customer. It is intended solely to provide the DownStream Partner flexibility in pricing in order to close the sale. A copy of the customer Purchase Order (PO) is required when using discount programs. The discounts allowed here may change at any time at the discretion of DownStream

The End User purchase order is required to be presented with each discounted order.

Educational Discount Policy

DownStream Technologies offers the following discount off the suggested list price for Universities and vocational Technical schools:

Notes:

  • NO other discount policies apply when using the Educational Discount Policy.
  • The Educational Discount Policy requires that ALL systems be covered under a maintenance contract.
  • The University or school will receive a single master copy of software and documentation.
  • An Educational Certification Form must be completed and signed by the appropriate representative of the educational institute, and must be included with the purchase order to DownStream for order acceptance. The Educational Certification form can be found on Salesnet under Policies and Forms.
  • The End User purchase order is required, unless special arrangements have been made.
  • Please contact the DownStream Technologies if additional discounts are required.

Competitive Trade-In Program

DownStream offers a Competitive Trade-In Program, which provides trade-in credit for a competitive system towards the purchase price of a "like" CAM350 product. Please contact DownStream’s Sales Support Group for any questions on “like” functionality. Competitive systems from the following companies are eligible:

  • For trade-ins to CAM350 configurations beyond those listed here please contact DownStream.
  • Shareware products such as GC-Prevue and ViewMate do not qualify for the competitive upgrade program.

  • This discount cannot be used across territories. The discount is offered for each location with multiple seats up to the total seats on maintenance at that location.

  • If a customer is purchasing add-on modules or upgrading product for a location that has several systems, the customer is not eligible for a multi-copy discount for the total systems at the location. They are only eligible for the discount based on the number of modules or upgrades being added per purchase order. For example, a customer is adding 5 Panel Editor modules to a location that has 10 CAM350-100 systems; the customer is eligible for a 5-system discount, not a 10-system discount.
  • If a customer is purchasing new systems and modules together on one purchase order, the customer is eligible for a multi-copy discount on the total price of the purchase order, based on the total number of systems being purchased.
  • The End user purchase order is required with the discounted order.
  • NO other discount policies apply when using the Multiple Copy Product Discount Policy.
  • Product modules cannot be moved from one base system to another.

  • If a customer has several systems under maintenance contracts at one location, they are eligible for a multi-copy discount on add-on maintenance contracts up to the number of total systems covered under maintenance contracts. For example, a customer has 5 seats currently under maintenance, and purchases maintenance on a 6th system, so they are eligible for a 6-system discount percentage on the add-on maintenance.
  • The End user purchase order is required with the discounted order.
  • NO other discount policies apply when using the Multiple Copy Product Discount Policy.

Pre-Approved Management Discounts

Periodically a Partner will come up against strong price competition in a particular account. In order to win the account, the partner may require a reduction in the product price to the end user to a point where the Partner would incur a loss due the margin being too small or even negative.

In cases such as these, or in cases where available budget is a problem, in order to support the Partner and close profitable business, DownStream will discount the product price provided there is proper justification and good business reasons to do so. All discount requests must be submitted to us by email.

  • It is the partner’s responsibility to get written confirmation of any DownStream Management approved discount, and to submit the documentation with the order.
  • All discounts must be approved in advance. No discounted orders will be accepted without pre-approval.
  • DownStream reserves the right to reject discount requests for any reason.
  • NO other discount policies apply when using a pre-approved management discount.
  • The end user purchase order is required with all discounted orders.
