St. Andrew / St. Mary / St. Theresa Pastoral Council Minutes
January 26, 2016
The Parish Council meeting was held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016
at St. Andrew’s. Debbie Krapfl led the opening prayer.
In attendance: Mike Bemis, Lourdeen Robson, MaryAnn Freund, Rick Torn, Karen Bodden, Vicky Hartwig, Debbie Krapfl, Cindy Thomae, Fr. Tom. Kathy Ritger, Judy Monti
Minutes: December 1, 2015 minutes reviewed and approved by consensus
Open Forum: There was no open forum. No new members present.
Committee Updates:
St. Mary’s School Advisory Board by Lourdeen Robson
· Lourdeen read the minutes from the 1/12/16 meeting. There were no visitors present. Members are preparing for Catholic Schools Week and a dinner to be held 1/30/16. Marketing remains the main focus for this year and the committee is creating brochures and working on other marketing items to promote the school. Brochures will be placed around town at specific tourist locations. Facebook and Downtown Mayville sites will also be utilized for marketing. The fundraiser for the school/parish is set for 4/30/16 and will have a beef/cash raffle, benbag tournament, small silent auction and possibly a sit-down dinner.
Christian Formation/Education by Debbie Krapfl
· Still an urgent need for an 8th grade teacher. Kathy Ritger and Fr. Tom continue to fill this position at this time.
· Inspirio has started and Kathy is working with them closely. CFC is working with Inspirio to make sure that outlined contractual goals are met.
· Mission Trip is scheduled for 3rd week in July with 11 high school students currently signed up. Inspirio will be the mission partner this year.
· Graduation breakfast planning will start at the March meeting. Graduation is 6/5/16.
· The committee is focusing on youth this year and as such are promiting the Catholic Youth Rally, which will be held at Carroll College the weekend of March 5/6. There are some high school students who have expressed interest in going on Saturday, and our focus is on promoting the event within our middle school youth for Sunday, March 6.
Spiritual Life and Worship by Karen Bodden
· The Pope's Holy Year of Mercy will begin Dec. 8, 2015.
· Fr. Tom will begin book discussions on February 25th. The selected book is "Church of Mercy" and Fr. Tom will be taking orders at the upcoming weekend masses in preparation for this.
· Seder meal will be held on Tuesday, 3/22.
· Our parish mission this year will be lead by Fr. Bill Csleak and will take place the evenings of March 13-16, all at St. Mary Church. Fr. Bill will will be presiding over all masses that weekend. Marketing for this event will begin soon. The theme for the mission is, "The Name of God is Mercy"
· Lenten Booklets will again be ordered and made available to all parishes.
St. Mary Finance, Mike Bemis
· The financial report was reviewed and approved.

· The financial report was reviewed and approved. There will be funds transitioned from checking to the Money Market, ensuring enough funds left within checking at all times to meet 5 months' worth of bills. disposition of school building: The

Human Concerns by Cindy Thomae
· New member from St. Andrew (Ann Hanke) and St. Mary (Pam Fox) were welcomed.
· Winter clothing drive was successful with 5 car loads taken to House of Peace in Milwaukee.
· The team was thanked for the annual Christmas Cards to Shut-Ins project.
· Health Ministry Board: Reported that no one stepped forward to open the school doors for walkers on a consistent basis, so this project has been put on hold. The kiosks have been delivered to all of the churches and someone will be assigned soon to fill them.
· CROP Walk is scheduled for 4/16/16.
Stewardship by Judi Monti
· The "thank you" cards were completed and the council agreed this is an excellent gesture.
Tech Team by Cindy Thomae and Fr. Tom
· Cindy has been undergoing training for the new website, which should be ready for go-live on 3/1/16. Each committee will have their own page with an expectation to update them on a regular basis. Discussed possible links to other websites (i.e. Archdiocese, etc.) possible advertisement opportunities, etc. There have been many requests coming in from different groups (school, Health Ministry, etc.) regarding having their own page on the website.
· Cost is $300.00 per year and $40.00 per mo
Old Business:
· Cindy reminded new members of Biography handout return. Will follow up with new members not present. .
· Reviewed and confirmed Committee liaisons assignments.
· Parish Resource Guide update is being handled by Vicky Hartwig and Ani Gonstead. There will be committee information available on specific websites also.
New Business:
· Develop new Pastoral Council mission and goals tabled to next meeting. Cindy did send the norms, but committee needs further time to review. We briefly reviewed the handouts Cindy sent to the council and we'll discuss more in depth at our next meeting.
· Liaisons to request committees to develop goals and missions based on the new "Parish Commissions and Committees Manual".
· Implementing Pastoral Council – next steps: Will be reviewed further at our next meeting.
