Johnson 4-H Scholarship

Scholarship Requirements

(See #9 below - Application due to County Extension Office by 5 pm first Monday in March)

1.  Applicant must have been an active 4-H member for a minimum of 4 years and be currently enrolled in a Leon County 4-H Club.

2.  Applicant must be a graduating senior during the year of application.

3.  This scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient at the end of the first completed regular semester of college. Applicant must take and complete a minimum of 12 hours during the semester and maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point ratio. Applicant will lose the scholarship if not used by the end of the fall semester of the following year received. In order to receive the funds, the recipient must provide the County Extension Office a copy of an official transcript following the completion of his or her first semester of college.

4.  Applicant must provide three letters of recommendation. Only one letter can be from a teacher, principal or counselor. Other two letters are to be from adults (no relatives).

5.  Applicant will need to provide an up-to date official high school transcript showing SAT or ACT Scores. If you were accepted by a vocational school or two year college that did not require a SAT or ACT these scores will not be required.

6.  Applicant must have been accepted by a college or vocational school, and provide a copy of the letter of acceptance.

7.  The scholarship is in the amount of $500.00 for one semester.

9.  Applications are due no later than first Monday in March at 5 pm. (If mailed the application must be postmarked no later than last day of February.)
