Expectations of Rice County 4-H Ambassadors

  • Completed ambassador applications are due September 28. Term runs from October 1 – September 30.
  • Must be at least 8th grade and not older than 19 years of age of current 4-H year.
  • Should have completed at least one year of being a Rice County 4-H member.
  • Attend a minimum of one Federation meeting.
  • Serve on a minimum of one Rice County committee – PDC or standing committee.
  • County Fair – minimum of two shifts in the ambassador booth.
  • Encouraged to exhibit in Citizenship or Leadership
  • Complete/attend at least five: Emcee at Family Banquet, Regional Officer Training, Regional Ambassador Training, BLU, Share the Fun (skits between club acts, emcees, greeters, etc.), YELLO, CWF or other National 4-H event, 4-H camp counselor, 4-H day camp counselor, lead a project workshop, lead their club in a project activity, community youth fair, be a part of the 4-H unit in parades, plan & attend lock-in, work at one livestock/dog show for fair, give daycare tours during fair.
  • Host one ambassador meeting (most likely with somebody else) which includes providing recreation, educational program (demonstrations, project activities, team-building, etc.) and snack.
  • Attend a minimum of 50% of meetings and activities planned by ambassadors.
  • Help with 4-H adventures/4-H afterschool as available.

4H Ambassador Commitment

I would like to serve as a 4-H Ambassador for the coming year and I am willing to devote my time and effort to this responsibility. I have read the list of expectations and will make all reasonable efforts to carry out these duties and am willing to put 4-H high on my priority list for the coming year. If I'm not able to fulfill these expectations, I will not be given credit as an Ambassador at the end of the year and therefore, will not take credit for it on scholarship applications or other applications that ask for involvement in community organizations.

We, as parents are willing to let ______serve as ambassador and understand that the responsibilities of an ambassador will require a commitment of time and effort.
